2.5-axis Sample Setup1

Most parts that you will machine will require multiple setups. A setup is every orientation the part will be fixtured or held on a machine.

In our example we are going to look at machining a sample part in two setups. This will help us understand and identify features that need to be machined, and how to account for the "flip" in the vise. Not all parts will be easy to hold in multiple setups, or have good locations for a WCS after the flip. This is all part of the process planning phase to understand what is possible and practical.

For this lesson carry on with your 2D Sample part setup in a vise.
