Shortcuts are really the key to unlocking the power of Plasticity. In this course we are going to focus heavily on where you can find tool and click on them, so you don't need to remember shortcuts, but honestly if you don't use shortcuts you will be selling yourself short.

The good news is that you don't need to remember ALL shortcuts to start seeing some benefits. Here are some of the more common tools that we suggest you commit to memory.

Selection Filters - The numbers at the top of your keyboard from 1-5 let you quickly change what gets selected on the screen. This can also be done by holding SHIFT and clicking to add or remove selections.

Views - Views and enabling the standard construction planes can be done a few different ways. From the Planes section on the right of your screen, from the viewCube, or using the NumPad. If you are on a laptop without a numPad sorry! If you do have a numPad you can use 1, 3, and 7 to go to the standard views. And holding CTRL and 1,3, or 7 will give you the opposite view. Such as Front and Back, or Left and Right. Side note the number 5 toggles between ortho and perspective mode.

Move, Rotate, and Scale - These shortcuts mimic Blender so good news if you have some seat time with Blender. If not G is move (grab), R is rotate, and S is scale. With each of those you can also double tap the key to move, rotate or scale in screen space, or pick an axis for quick movements. For example if you hit GG you will lock the object to your cursor moving in screen space. While these tools are always at the bottom of the screen, getting used to the shortcuts really does speed up the workflow.

The last one I would strongly suggest is F. This key is the "Find" which lets you create a tool palette, search bar, and full list of tools wherever the cursor is when you press it. So if you need to use something like "Raise Degree", you simply press F and start typing Rai and it will filter the list of tools.

There are loads of other shortcut keys and as your workflow develops you will identify tools you use all the time and either set a shortcut for them or remember the default one.
